B Series Metal Block Calibrators
Dotted line

ASL's B series Metal Block Calibrators let you accurately calibrate PRT's and other thermometers easily and conveniently. These rugged, portable blocks provide a very stable and uniform temperature as standard, but you can specify the options to meet your needs precisely. For example, insert options let you use a wide range of probe diameters, saving time and money and, to allow accurate calibration required by IS09000, inserts with two or more holes accept both reference thermometer and the probes to be calibrated.

The ASL range of Metal Block Calibrators consists of the B700 for temperatures from +50°C to +700°C and the B140 for temperatures from -25°C to 140°C.

To aid rapid cooling from elevated temperatures to ambient ASL has developed the B-Cool forced air cooling probe.

Metal Block Calibrators can be supplied with optional independent indicators and RS485 or RS232C interfaces.

B700 Metal Block Calibrator

Dotted line

The B700 allows you to accurately calibrate RTDs and other thermometers easily and conveniently.

Its large capacity saves you time by holding up to 12 thermometers at once.

Using ASL’s proven removable insert technology the B700 accepts a variety of temperature probe diameters and guarantees repeatable calibration performance to enable you to comply with your ISO9000 requirements.

All B700s are tested over their full temperature range before dispatch and are supplied with a stability test certificate.

Calibration Accuracy

Dotted line

The accuracy of your calibration will depend on the sum of the accuracy of the reference thermometer with its indicator and the uncertainties associated with stability and uniformity of the block. Be cautious of claims for accuracy with no explanation, as it may be just another way to specify uniformity. The Independent Indicator option has probe data correction to improve accuracy and is supplied with, or without, probe and traceable calibration. For best results, use an external reference such as ASL's F100 or F200 series precision thermometers , offering a traceable system accuracy of up to ±0.025°C.

Uniformity

Dotted line

Uniformity is defined for the B series as the temperature difference between two probes in a two-hole insert. In the B700 a typical value is also shown for the fixed holes. For customised blocks, uniformity will depend on the design. "Gradient" or "homogeneity" are other terms used for describing uniformity.
